Today, sources affiliated with the army reported multiple operations targeting Baloch militants across Balochistan, including Kech, Mastung, Tamp, Panjgur, Turbat, and Mach. The authorities claim that a total of 66 militants were killed, though these figures remain unverified, and the full outcome of the operations is yet to be confirmed.
These operations coincide with the 19th anniversary of the death of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, a key figure in Baloch history, on August 26. Last year, on the 18th anniversary, the BLA carried out a series of attacks, dubbed βHaruf,β targeting police stations, railway tracks, highways, and army camps, which resulted in 73 deaths, including 38 civilians, 14 Pakistani soldiers, and 21 militants.
Given the potential threat of similar coordinated attacks this year, security forces appear to have launched preemptive operations in multiple locations to mitigate the risk.
