A letter attributed to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)-linked sources has surfaced on militant-affiliated online platforms, commenting on the security situation in Bajaur.
According to the letter, the presence of militants in Bajaur prompted security operations that forced large-scale displacement of civilians. It further states that the withdrawal of fighters back to Afghanistan from Bajaur reinforces the perception among the public that the Taliban only came to drive them out. Once residents were displaced and businesses worth millions were destroyed, the fighters withdrew and left.
The letter warns that this will create an extremely negative impression and could severely undermine the movementβs influence in the region. It therefore advises the groupβs leadership in Bajaur not to allow fighters to flee back to Afghanistan.

Affiliated sources linked to TTG/HGB have circulated an announcement addressed to all TTG members, declaring that from this day forward, all organizational activities will be conducted under the leadership of Hafiz Gul Bahadur.
In a first, the group has also unveiled the flag of Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan (IMP), instructing members to raise it as the sole emblem of the movement. The statement stresses that every member is duty-bound to honor the flag and to follow only directives issued by the central leadership.
IMP is a militant alliance comprising three groups, including HGB. The coalition is not commanded by a single faction but functions under a collective leadership framework. Until now, member groups had operated in IMPβs name while simultaneously displaying their individual flags in media appearances. Likewise, HGB sub-factions often promoted their own banners.
Notably, this latest declaration was not released through IMPβs official media mouthpiece, nor have the allianceβs other constituents β TLIP (LeI) and HIIP β or their affiliated platforms issued any confirmation or comment.

Last night, clashes broke out between militants and security forces in Dubandow, a village in Upper Dir district near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. According to voice messages circulated on militant-affiliated channels, the militants claimed they were heading to a mosque for a speech when the CTD launched a raid.
In another voice message from three days ago, the militants threatened locals, village elders, and police, warning them not to interfere. They claimed they were acting under instructions from the IEA and should not be confronted.
While Upper Dir has generally remained peaceful, recent militant activity and attacks have been reported in the neighboring Lower Dir. Two days ago, a video surfaced showing militants operating in Upper Dir as well.
Locals reported that over the past two months, militants have been moving into Dubandow from nearby border areas. Some local farmers are believed to have collaborated with them, and more people joined later. The militants allegedly seized livestock and harassed residents. In one instance, locals captured a militant and handed him over to the police.

Two days ago, in Wana the people of the Khoghel Khel tribe surrounded armed men who, according to them, were planning to attack the Wana military camp. After the locals captured the men, the FC at the camp claimed they were actually their own personnel and demanded they be handed over. The locals complied.
Similarly, last night in Orakzai District, the local lashkar apprehended armed men, some carrying rocket launchers, amid daily attacks on police, civilians, and security forces. Security personnel from nearby camps then forcibly removed the captives from locals, asserting they were their own.
Locals in Dir have also reported similar incidents.
The only explanation that comes to my mind is that these individuals are likely members of peace committees lashkars patrolling the area.
