The boys, aged 14–16, were collecting scrap in the neighborhood using a rickshaw when they found a hand grenade in the scrap. While tampering with it, the grenade detonated, injuring three. The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, and police have cordoned off the area to begin investigations.

The Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Maj. Gen. Ahmed Sharif, has described 2025 as a “landmark and consequential year” in Pakistan’s ongoing war against terrorism.
According to DG ISPR, Pakistan’s security forces conducted a total of 75,175 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) during 2025, averaging 206 operations per day.
Breakdown by region:
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 14,658
Balochistan: 57,778
Rest of Pakistan: 1,739
Despite the high operational tempo, KP recorded the highest number of terrorist attacks, attributed by DG ISPR to the province’s politically conducive environment.

He clarified that Pakistan’s security forces and police employ unmanned aerial systems strictly for surveillance, reconnaissance, and intelligence-gathering purposes to prevent collateral damage. Any kinetic use of drones by state forces, when unavoidable, is conducted exclusively in uninhabited areas with no civilian presence or residential structures.
