-βš‘πŸ‡΅πŸ‡°/🏴/🏳️: ALERT

Yesterday, TTP affiliates abducted a shepherd, Jalil, a resident of Kherokhel Pakka, along with his livestock from a mountainous area near Paharkhel Pakka, Lakki Marwat. In response, the Kherokhel Aman Committee detained the father of a TTP affiliate and issued a warning of consequences if the shepherd was not released.

Following this pressure, the TTP released Jalil along with his livestock. Subsequently, through a local jirga, the detained father of the TTP affiliate was also released.

This marks another tit-for-tat hostage incident in the region, as earlier, a similar approach was used in Bannu, where local residents secured the release of a police personnel by detaining the father of a TTP affiliate.

According to security sources, a week-long Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in Karachi successfully foiled a major militant plot.

Based on credible intelligence reports, suspicious activity was detected within a 30–40 km radius of Karachi. Security agencies immediately intensified surveillance and reconnaissance, cordoning off the area for five to six days, and systematically tracking down the threat.

During the operation, a suicide bomber affiliated with the BLA Bashir Zeb group was arrested. Intelligence obtained from this arrest led to the identification of the plotters and their handlers.

In Karachi’s Baldia, Rais Goth area, a mini-truck VBIED was intercepted. The vehicle contained:

β€”60 plastic drums loaded with explosives

β€”5 metallic gas cylinders

β€”Approximately 2,000 kg of explosives in total

Further track-down operations led to the discovery of the militants’ hideouts and additional explosives stored in a nearby compound, including:

β€”6 sacks of 40 kg homemade explosives

β€”Extensive wiring and concealed materials intended for improvised attacks

The mini-truck and compound were part of a logistical network used to transport and assemble explosives in Karachi, where the final preparations for attacks were underway. Sources indicate the property had been utilized for some time by operatives of Bashir Zeb’s group, which coordinates from Afghanistan, using Afghan soil for planning, facilitation, and logistical support.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team employed standard operating procedures, including isolation of the site, canine inspection, and Hook-and-Line techniques, to safely remove and render all explosives harmless.

Sources confirm that the militants had planned attacks on public places across Karachi, including suicide bombings designed to cause mass casualties, with a specific target being Dolmen Mall.

The CTD Sindh is expected to hold a press briefing to provide further operational details.

After several rounds of talks, Pakistani and Afghan business representatives reached a breakthrough on restoring closed trade routes. Both sides agreed to form a 12-member joint committee (six from each country) to address trade challenges and oversee the reopening of border crossings.

The committee’s first meeting is scheduled for January 6 at Torkham, where final decisions on reopening key trade routes are expected.

Senior FPCCI leaders, including Atif Ikram Sheikh and Syed Jawad Hussain Kazmi, and Afghan Chamber head Syed Karim Hashmi led the discussions. The committee will meet monthly to resolve bilateral and transit trade issues and remove obstacles faced by traders.

Officials expressed optimism that the initiative would revive cross-border trade and benefit traders and the public of both countries.
