-🇵🇰/🏴/🏳️: ALERT

A situation similar to the previous incident occurred, today, in Faqiran Chowk, MirAli, where an IED targeted a security forces vehicle, injuring four personnel who were subsequently evacuated. This led to an intense exchange of fire between security forces and militants, during which civilian homes were struck, resulting in human and livestock casualties as well as significant structural damage.

After sustained engagement, civilians displayed white flags and moved onto the roads, allowing the situation to gradually stabilize. There are also reports of a quadcopter attack on the aman rally, causing injuries.

Currently, the situation is relatively calm, and negotiations are underway with the parties involved with the aman rally.

Previously, the elders of MirAli, during a Jirga, strongly advised both sides to avoid engaging in civilian areas; however, the Jirga did not yield the desired results.

-🇵🇰/🏴/🏳️: MONITORING

KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, while addressing the Afridi tribal people in Bara, Khyber District, spoke about the potential military operations planned in Tirah. He said that once again, a military operation is being imposed on the local people, despite the army previously facilitating the entry of militants into their areas under certain agreements.

Afridi explained that the local population had warned the authorities about militants entering their villages from the mountains, but the army dismissed their concerns. Now, after the militants have entered, the army has decided to conduct an operation, even though they themselves had facilitated the militants’ movements.

He emphasized that the people are opposed to the military operations. Afridi accused the army of trying to create negative narratives against him, while he claims they are actually involved in terrorism, smuggling, and illegal weapons and arms movements. He said the Tirah operation seems politically motivated against him, calling it a "war of narratives" rather than a genuine effort for peace or agreements.

Afridi also criticized the decision-making process in KP, saying it is done behind closed doors, without consulting the people. He mentioned that despite proposing 15 points to bring all political parties and influential figures together for peace, the army abducted people and rejected the proposals, ignoring the voices of KP residents.

He added that the army has conducted dozens of military operations in the past with no meaningful results, and this operation is unlikely to succeed. Afridi concluded by saying that KP has become a “testing ground” for policies made by people in closed rooms, where changes in these decision-makers affect policies, but ordinary people continue to suffer.
