The ongoing military operation in Bajaur is focused on encircling TTP fighters concentrated in specific pockets. According to military officials, there will be no negotiations and no safe passage for the militants; the objective is their complete elimination through a tightening siege and sustained engagement. To reinforce this strategy, border security in Bajaur has been raised to the highest alert, with strict measures in place to prevent any infiltration or escape.
Despite this, TTP-affiliated channels were recently circulating reports of a newly deployed tashkeel of the group’s Special Istishhadi Force (SIF) entering Bajaur, through border routes. The SIF is regarded as an elite formation, trained in hybrid tactics that combine suicide bombings with rapid, high-intensity assaults on military targets. These claims gained further credibility today after visuals surfaced showing SIF members establishing unauthorized checkpoints along key roads inside Bajaur.
In addition, TTP affiliated channels are reporting preparations for an imminent wave of suicide attacks in the Salarzai area—one of Bajaur’s most firmly pro-military regions—signaling the group’s intent to escalate violence despite the ongoing siege.
