In a press release, the spokesperson of Bannu Regional Police stated that, in a successful operation carried out by police and security forces, four commanders of the the Gul Bahadur Group, were killed.
According to the press release, the operation resulted in the deaths of:
-Commander Danish, also known as Insaf/Sabawon
-Commander Zaif Ullah, son of Salamat Khan
-Commander Atta-ur-Rehman, resident of Dattakhel
-Maulana Kausar
The press further reported that the deceased militants were directly involved in recent assassination of Assistant Commissioner of North Waziristan.
The slain militants, according to the press, were also actively engaged:
-Conducting militants operations
-Providing logistical support to militant networks
-Organizing and coordinating militants cells
-Recruiting new members for militants activities
-Carrying out targeted killings
-Attacking police posts and security installations
-Kidnapping for ransom

During the operation, our troops effectively engaged the militants’ positions. After an intense exchange of fire, seven militants were neutralized.
However, during the engagement, the brave son of the soil, Naik Yasir Khan (age 34, resident of District Mardan), displayed exceptional valor and made the ultimate sacrifice, attaining shahadat.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who had been actively involved in multiple militants activities in the area.
