-⚡🇵🇰/🇦🇫/🏴/🏳️: MONITORING
Qari Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh, the current Chairman of Rabita Ulema-o-Mashaikh Pakistan and Joint Secretary of PMML, a political party accused of having links to the LeT/JuD network though its leadership has denied any association with the banned outfit, in a video statement, welcomed the conference of scholars and religious leaders convened by Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir.
He said that the manner in which Asim Munir invited religious scholars and held consultations with them had increased confidence within the religious community. He also welcomed the fatwa issued by Afghan scholars prohibiting jihad outside Afghanistan and declaring armed struggle in neighboring countries unlawful, stating that such steps would greatly improve relations between the two countries.
He added that the Afghan Taliban should also ensure that not a single bullet is fired from Afghan soil toward Pakistan, noting that Pakistani scholars would welcome such a declaration. The leader further stated that if the Taliban fail to guarantee that no actions will be carried out against Pakistan, they should remember that the entire nation stands with the armed forces, and that “we will go to any extent, shoulder to shoulder with the army, to defend the country.”
