Last night, militants attacked Maidan Gul Choki in Lower Dir district. The police responded promptly, and the militants fled. No casualties have been reported. The TTP has claimed responsibility for the attack.

It should be noted that Lower Dir, which was a relatively peaceful district in KP, has suddenly seen a surge in attacks on police. Few days ago, videos surfaced showing TTP taskheels roaming in the Lower Dir area.
⚠️ PDMA Update: Heavy Rains & Flash Floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Over the past 48 hours, 307 people martyred (279 men, 15 women, 13 children) and 23 injured (17 men, 4 women, 2 children) across multiple districts.

There are still people missing.

74 houses damaged: 63 partially, 11 completely destroyed.

Most affected districts: Bajaur, Battagram, and Buner (184 deaths in Buner alone).

Incidents reported in: Swat, Buner, Bajaur, Torghar, Mansehra, Shangla, Battagram.

Heavy rains expected to continue intermittently until 21 August.

Relief funds released and all agencies instructed to accelerate rescue operations.

PDMA and district administrations are in full coordination, monitoring the situation.

Citizens advised to stay alert, follow safety precautions, and report incidents via helpline 1700.

The President of Iran and the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs have extended heartfelt condolences to Pakistan over the widespread devastation caused by recent floods across the country, including Azad Kashmir.

The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported that Iranian President Masoud Pezzekian, in a message issued on Saturday, conveyed profound sympathy on behalf of the Iranian government and people to Pakistan’s Prime Minister, its leadership, and citizens. He described the floods as a tragic calamity that has afflicted a brotherly and friendly nation.

The Afghan Foreign Ministry also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life resulting from the torrential rains and flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In its statement, the ministry extended condolences to the bereaved families, the government, and the people of Pakistan, while praying for the swift recovery of the injured and patience for those enduring irreparable losses.

According to Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the death toll from the relentless rains and floods during the past 48 hours has risen to 320. Dozens of people have sustained injuries, and hundreds of families have been rendered homeless.

According to security sources, a group of militants carried out a two-sided assault on the Sardi Khel area,Bannu targeting FC Daryoba Platoon 157 and Pakistan Army’s 29 FF unit stationed at the joint post. The attack came from both the northern and southern sides.

Personnel from the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps responded immediately, leading to a 20-minute exchange of fire.

The attackers eventually withdrew without causing any casualties.

Police also confirmed that an attempt was made to target the Wali Noor check post in Bannu district, which was likewise repelled.

Special teams from the Corps of Engineers, equipped with the necessary machinery, have arrived in Bajaur and are working around the clock to install a new bridge. Military officials have stated that the construction will be completed within the next few days.
