CTD personnel, assisted by Bannu District Police, returned fire immediately, killing two militants on the spot. The remaining attackers retreated into a nearby house, where they took two local residents hostage and subsequently killed them when they resisted.
Following the incident, CTD SWAT teams, reinforcements from Bannu Police, and other security forces reached the scene. An intense gunfight lasting around eight hours ensued, ultimately resulting in the neutralization of all remaining militants, the statement said.
