Religion was invented when the first con man met the first fool.
We have to remember that what we observe is not nature herself, but nature exposed to our method of questioning.

— W. Heisenberg (Physics and Philosophy, 1958)
Look at your habits: Are they the product of innumerable little cowardices and lazinesses...or of your courage and inventive reason?

— Nietzsche
Life humbles you. The older you get the more you crave a peaceful life and the less you tolerate drama, stress, and conflict. You just want a calm, cosy home, good food on your table, and to be surrounded by your favourite people.
Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body. — Seneca
To truth only a brief celebration of victory is allowed between the two long periods during which it is first condemned as paradoxical, and then disparaged as trivial. — Arthur Schopenhauer

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed; second, it is violently opposed; and third, it is accepted as self-evident.
Losing a girl who never added value to your life isn’t a loss, it’s a blessing.
The first principle is that you must not fool yourself and you are the easiest person to fool. — Richard Feynman
Calling someone 'uneducated' is often ironic—we’re all educated in some things and clueless in others. Real wisdom is sharing knowledge, not insulting ignorance.
Love is the sweetest lie we tell ourselves so we don’t have to face the emptiness of existence.
Faith is the excuse the weak give themselves for not thinking.
The fundamental cause of trouble in the world today is that the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt. — Bertrand Russell
We cannot bear the raw pain of loneliness, so we invent family, love, and attachments. Yet what we create to soothe us becomes another source of wounds, and in the end we lose it all. In fleeing real suffering, we fabricate imaginary happiness, but that happiness itself turns into suffering. And so life circles back, pushing us once again into the very pain we tried to escape.
Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric.

— Bertrand Russell

Your perception of me is a reflection of you

This recognition, that we create images of people in our minds, as they do of us, inspires me to let go of the stories and ideas I have about people and who they are, and to try to meet each person anew each time we connect, even if it’s someone I’ve “known” for a long time.

We are always changing and transforming.

I can recognize the differences in myself in just one day.

My mindset and mood is different today than it was yesterday.

There is so much going on within a human mind, so many things changing in our unique life experiences that shape us and alter us.

Try not to hold too tightly to your ideas about yourself or other people.

Allow yourself to have a beginner’s mind, to meet each person, each moment, even yourself, with openness and curiosity.

Welcome the continual transformation and evolution of life, and embrace it with beauty and awe, for life is truly a miracle! And when we let go of our fixed views we can see this reality of life more clearly
