Silent Hill 2 on PS5 in Performance mode fails to maintain stable 60 FPS

Digital Foundry has studied the Silent Hill 2 remake. Performance issues are observed on both PS5 and PC, and they are related to Unreal Engine 5.

In Quality mode on PS5, the game runs at 1224-1512p and 30 FPS, but the FPS can drop, and there are unpleasant staters.

In Performance mode, the game runs at 60 FPS and 864-1152p resolution with upscaling to 4K, but FPS often drops to 40 frames per second.

In Performance mode, the quality of Lumen lighting and the resolution of Lumen reflections are reduced, but this did not help to achieve a stable FPS.

The PC version also suffers from staters - Digital Foundry plans to release a separate video for this version.
