The Lebanese Civil a warning for Christians

What we are dealing with today has been done before in Lebanon

Lebanon (Believe it or not) was a beautiful peaceful country,
Nicknamed the Paris of the Mid East

Under rule of the Maronite Christians its was prosperous and everyone wanted to go

The different religious group lived in relative peace

So what happened?

Immigration and non Christian immigrants too

The Palestinians had been kicked out of their land

So they set shop in Jordan

After a failed attempt to overthrow the Jordanian Monarchy they were expelled in what is now known as Black September

The Palestinians left for the only place that would let them in, Lebanon

Which proved to be a fatal mistake

Almost immediately they set up check point in Lebanon, used refugee camps as training grounds and acted like a deep state

So you have foreigners acting like your government and harassing you every where you go

It eventually turned to violence

The PLO attacked a Maronite Catholic Church
Killing four Catholics and then they attempted to assassinate a Christian leader Bashir Gemayel

The Maronites furious gathered their men and retaliated by killing 28 Palestinians

This officially started the Civil War

The Palestinians despite saying they were fighting “colonialism and occupation” were occupying land from Lebanon and being fund by the Syrians and Soviets

So you have muslim foreigner backed by Muslim and Communist countries trying to kill the Christians

The Lebanese Christians had believed they weren’t Arab and Muslim but Phoenician and Christian

They saw this as not just a war but a fight for survival against those who hated their religion, culture and nation

Many Lebanese Christians grew to loath Palestinians

The Guardian of the Cedars, far right Christian group would say “it is the duty of each Lebanese to kill a Palestinian”

Or as founder Etienne Saqr once said "If you feel compassion for the Palestinian women and children, remember they are communists and will bear new communists"

Afterall who can blame them

The Palestinians did nothing but bring trouble to Lebanon and to the Christian communities

Overall this a lesson to Christians in the west

Be careful, pray and be prepared
