#SocialIssues National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)

-Recent NAAC assessments have given very high scores to private colleges, even more than prestigious academic institutions such as IISc. This has led to questions about the methodology and integrity of assessment procedure adopted by NAAC.

Issues in the assessment process of NAAC
1. Current input driven approach adopted by NAAC in dependent on what is easily measurable.
2. Corruption: NAAC visiting teams are given very elite treatment by colleges luring them to give higher ranks.
3. Agents and consultations help colleges game the assessment and artificially boost rankings.

Benefits of higher NAAC scores for academic institutions:
1. Increased autonomy.
2. More funds from UGC and central government
3. Possibility of foreign collaborations
4. Allowed to new courses, start distance learning .
5. Greater academic and curriculum freedom.

Need to audit and reform NAAC.

आंध्रप्रदेश में पांच कर्नाटक में तीन डिप्टी सीएम

सबसे ज्यादा उपमुख्यमंत्री आंध्र प्रदेश में हैं। यहां पांच डिप्टी सीएम हैं। जबकि कर्नाटक में तीन डिप्टी सीएम हैं। इसके अलावा सरकारें अभी तक उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार और गोवा में दो- दो उपमुख्यमंत्री बना चुकी हैं। दिल्ली के बाद हिमाचल भी एक उपमुख्यमंत्री वाले राज्य की कतार में शामिल हो गया है। हिमाचल में पहली मर्तबा उपमुख्यमंत्री के तौर पर किसी नेता ने शपथ ली है।
