Node Version 0.5.2 was released on Pi2Day 2025! Among numerous other updates, the Pi Node app was renamed “Pi Desktop” to be more general to include current and future integrations, including access to the Pi App Studio. Version 0.5.3 was released shortly afterwards to address specific bugs.

As initially announced on Pi2Day, the Pi Wallet now integrates Onramper, a third-party, KYB-verified on-ramp aggregator that simplifies on-ramp services for Pioneers. Pi has released a Linux Node version and is preparing protocol upgrades. The highly requested Linux Node will provide standardized and easier infrastructure for partners and services. https://minepi.com/blog/pi-linux-node/

There will also be an upcoming rollout of protocol upgrades that begins with Testnet1 this week, and continue with Testnet2 and Mainnet upgrades into the next few weeks, which may potentially require planned outages of the blockchain services. Specific outages, if any, will be announced in advance. The protocol upgrades will enable functionalities including embedding KYC authority in the protocol that will maintain Pi as a KYC-verified blockchain while offering a more distributed, community-driven KYC process at the protocol level.
