As announced on Pi2Day, the 6-month Grace Period, essential for preparing Pi for Open Network, began on July 1. Pioneers must complete their KYC and Mainnet migration within specific deadlines defined by the Grace Period, which includes flexibility to accommodate Pioneers who are stuck in the process by system blocks. We’re rolling out significant updates to Fireside Forum's Decentralized Moderation feature, enhancing fairness and community engagement. Key improvements include refined moderation rewards, improved moderation algorithms, and time-limited promotions for moderators to ensure quality control. UI/UX enhancements also make the platform more user-friendly. These changes are designed to foster a healthier, more accountable environment, aligning with our vision of a self-sustaining Web3 social network.

The first deadline of the Grace Period for submitting KYC applications has been extended to November 30, 2024. This extension gives Pioneers more time to complete KYC, while the final deadline of Grace Period to complete Mainnet migration remains unchanged on December 31, 2024.

Pi Node Version 0.5.0 has been released, a major update preparing Nodes for the Mainnet blockchain. This update transitions Nodes to the Testnet2 blockchain, simulating the Mainnet environment and testing the switch between Testnet and Mainnet blockchains. The original Testnet will remain active for now but will soon close for Node use. Original Testnet will continue functioning as normal for Pioneers and Pi app developers.

The first Grace Period deadline to submit the KYC application is now extended to December 31, 2024, making it the same as the second deadline to migrate. The final Grace Period deadline has not changed and is still December 31, 2024. This extension ensures all Pioneers have ample opportunity to secure their Pi while maintaining the overall timeframe of 6-month Grace Period unchanged.
