πŸš€ PEPEPOW Mining Algorithm Upgrade Incoming

The PEPEPOW network is approaching the transition to the hoohash-pepew mining algorithm.

Based on the current network monitor, activation is expected in around 2 days, although the exact timing may still vary slightly depending on block production. Node operators and miners should begin preparing now.

### Network readiness
Around 75% of nodes on the network have already upgraded to the new version.
This is a strong signal that the network is moving steadily toward activation, but the remaining nodes should still upgrade as soon as possible to reduce fork risk and ensure a smoother transition.

### Miner preparation
Miners should prepare to switch to HTN Miner, which now supports PEPEPOW_HOOHASH.

Miner downloads and usage:
https://htn.foztor.net/

At this stage, the recommended supported miner is HTN Miner.
For users on Linux, it can be used directly.
For Windows users, the currently documented path is via WSL.
Native Windows support or additional third-party miner support may come later as more options become available.

### Please get ready
* Node operators: upgrade to the latest required version as soon as possible
* Miners: prepare your wallet address, pool choice, and HTN Miner setup
* Pool operators and community members: continue checking readiness and helping others update before activation

### Track activation progress
You can follow the network status and estimated activation timing here:
https://explorer.pepepow.net/monitor/

Further updates and mining instructions will be shared as activation gets closer.

🚨Network Update

Reported Hoohash GPU hashrate now appears higher than the old Xelish CPU hashrate, but block production is still stalled.

A likely cause has now been identified: the issue appears to be in the miner target/difficulty logic, not necessarily the chain itself. This was not obvious on testnet because the difficulty there was very low, but on mainnet the problem became visible.

This means the current issue is more likely a miner-side problem than a chain consensus problem.

Pool and node operators should still compare:
* block height
* best block hash
* peer count / sync status
* accepted / rejected / stale shares

Please do not rely on displayed hashrate alone. What matters now is valid block production on the correct chain.

We will share another update as soon as more information is confirmed.
πŸ‘€2
🚨 Emergency miner update
The emergency fix is complete. Foztor has finished updating the miner, and the blockchain is moving again.

All miners should now download and switch to the new HTN miner immediately.

Please do not continue using the previous miner version, as it contains the target/difficulty logic issue that affected valid block production.

If you are mining PEPEPOW, update now and reconnect to your pool using the new miner.

For using new version in HiveOS, the fast way is to create a new custom miner name for the updated version, such as hoo_cpu_v147 or hoo_gpu_v147. This avoids old cached files being reused.

PEPEPOW Explorer Update πŸΈβ›οΈ

The community explorer migration has been completed successfully.

The main explorer domain now points to the improved community-maintained explorer:

https://explorer.pepepow.org/

Existing core paths should continue working normally.

The updated explorer also uses the new PEPEPOW-themed background and improved visual identity, while keeping page content readable and functional.

A few differences may still exist compared with the previous explorer, such as masternode/API/info/claim/orphan-block and whale-movement related pages. These may be improved or added later as development continues.

Thanks to Profit King and Foztor for coordinating the server, DNS, Cloudflare, IPv4/IPv6, SSL/proxy setup, and monitoring. Overnight logs look stable so far, with low server load reported.

Please test the explorer and report any broken links, missing pages, display issues, or performance problems.

πŸ“’ Legacy PEPEPOW Web Wallet Retirement Notice

The legacy PEPEPOW web wallet(maintained by foztor) will be retired and shut down soon.

Now a newer web wallet option has been available for around 4 months, we believe it is the right time to fully move away from the old system.

Recently, the legacy web wallet showed signs of possible unauthorized access or abnormal balance movement. The exact cause is still unclear, but community members have helped top up the wallet so users can withdraw their remaining funds as safely as possible.

βœ… What users should do:
β€’ Please withdraw it as soon as possible.
β€’ Do not deposit new funds into the legacy web wallet.
β€’ Move to the newer wallet option or use the desktop wallet instead.
β€’ The legacy wallet service will be shut down.

This step is to protect users and reduce risk from an old service that has been running with limited maintenance for a long time.

Thank you to everyone who helped support the withdrawal process and keep the PEPEPOW community safe. βš’οΈπŸΈ
