2) Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal has approved the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA)'s US$ 34 million (Rs. 284.19 crore) project to develop an 'Export-Import cum Domestic Agricultural Commodity-Based Processing & Storage Facility' on a PPP model.

3) Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav launched today Ideas4LiFE for inviting ideas related to products and services, which induce behavioral changes related to environment-friendly lifestyles.

4) A high-level committee headed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday approved several disaster mitigation and capacity building projects for various states that include combating urban flooding and checking glacial lake outburst floods.

5) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a comprehensive financial support plan of Rs 11,500 crore to enhance flood control measures and irrigation projects across several states.

6) The Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman proposed to abolish ‘angel tax’ for all classes of investors, while presenting the Union Budget 2024-25 in Parliament.

7) Prestigious ‘Rajbhasha Gaurav Samman’ for 2023-24 was presented to the PSUs in Visakhapatnam for their outstanding performance in implementing the official language.
➨ The award was presented by The Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC).

8) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in union budget 2024 proposed to enhance mudra loans to Rs 20 lakh, from Rs 10 lakh earlier.
➨ Mudra or Micro Units Development & Refinance Agency, is a channel for government credit scheme meant for entrepreneurs under which loans are given.

9) The government has extended the duration of Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) 2024 by two months up to Sept 30, with enhancement of outlay to ₹778 crore.
➨ Earlier, the scheme was launched by Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) through a gazette notification.

11) The government has de-linked placements from the short-term skills training imparted under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 of the ministry of skills development and entrepreneurship, with effect from 2022-23.

12) National Security Advisor NSA Ajit Doval led the Indian delegation at the 4th Annual Meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation BIMSTEC Security Chiefs in Naypyitaw, Myanmar.

13) Suhail Ajaz Khan, the Indian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, has also been appointed as ambassador to Yemen.

14) Cmde D.K. Murali has taken over as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL), a Mini Ratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

15) Sanjay Kapoor, the former chief of the All India Chess Federation (AICF), has been unanimously elected as the president of the FIDE India Zone for a four-year term.
