If you mine PCoin on Windows, please update.

A node that failed to start just once — most often because an upgrade left the previous one still shutting down — could make the miner turn fast mode off permanently. The PC carried on mining, quietly, at a fraction of its real speed, and nothing ever said anything was wrong.

v1.4.27 stops guessing. It now asks the node itself whether it supports fast mode, and only changes the setting when the answer is genuinely no.

The wrap desk is closing.

Until now you could wrap PCN into wPCN here and sell it on PancakeSwap. From today that door is shut. Nothing is wrong: the wPCN side has done its job, and the pool is thin enough that pushing more through it costs everyone a worse price.

Nothing you are owed changes. Every wrap that reached 100 confirmations has been paid, and anything still confirming will be paid the same way.

What still works, today, unchanged:
- PancakeSwap, wPCN/USDT - buy and sell any time
- market.pc.am - buy PCN directly, no wrapping involved

This is temporary. We are working on an exchange listing; realistically that is two to three months away. When it lands there is a real market and the wrap desk stops being the only way out.

If your miner shows 650 H/s or more, switch to Solo.

One pool — ours — now finds about 73% of PCoin blocks and holds about 80% of the network's hashrate. That is the single biggest weakness in the chain, and it being ours rather than a stranger's does not make it safer.

Here is the part worth knowing. Of 198 miners on pool.pc.am, 96 are individually fast enough to find a whole block roughly once a week on their own — and those 96 are 97.5% of the pool's hashrate. If that is you, you are paying our 2% fee for variance insurance you do not need.

Open the PCoin miner, go to Mining mode, choose Solo. You keep the entire 50 PCN block, you stop paying the 2%, and PCoin stops depending on one pool.

The app already works this out for your machine and tells you which is better. If it says Pool, stay on the pool — that is exactly what it is for.

PCoin has a second mining pool, and we do not run it.

An independent operator has been running one at 198.244.169.49:3333 since early September. We checked it again today: it speaks the right algorithm, serves an 80-byte PCoin header rather than someone else's, and the job it handed us was building on our chain at our current tip. It is real.

We are naming it because the biggest weakness in PCoin right now is that our own pool holds about 80% of the network's hashrate. A pool nobody at PCoin controls is the only real answer to that, and this one arrived without us asking for it.

Be clear about what we are and are not saying. We do not run it, we have no relationship with whoever does, and we have not verified that it pays its miners — we can only see that it builds valid PCoin blocks. Solo mining is still the option that requires trusting nobody at all.

If you send hashrate there, start small and check you get paid.
