PCoin (PCN) — exchange listing progress

Two real steps forward this week:

1. ElectrumX servers are live for PCN (2 nodes, real SSL) — the hard prerequisite for non-custodial DEX listings.
2. The first PCN atomic swap settled end-to-end: 100 PCN for 17.5 DOGE, verified independently on both chains.

On the strength of that, we've filed for listing on Komodo DeFi Framework (formerly AtomicDEX) — a non-custodial DEX where nothing is held in a wallet you don't control. The PR is open and under review, not yet merged:

Disclosure, because you should know before you trade: one address is currently finding ~62% of blocks over the last 300 (95% confidence interval 57-67%). Pool miners together account for about 34% of the same window. We track this publicly and will report it again as it changes.

PCoin (PCN) — the majority-risk address is gone, and the pool tripled

Two days ago we disclosed one address finding ~62% of blocks — real majority risk. Fresh numbers just now, same method (300-block window, 95% confidence interval), cross-checked against two independent nodes:

The largest solo miner is down to ~23% (18-27% CI). No single address is anywhere near a majority any more.

In the same 48 hours, the pool went from 13 miners to 41, and from ~92K H/s to ~585K H/s — a 6x jump. Network-wide hashrate is up 48% to ~657K H/s.

Honest disclosure, because the number moved rather than disappeared: the pool itself is now at ~65% of the network (60-70% CI) — the same "51% problem" concentration represents, just in a different place. Structurally lower risk than a single address (no pool wallet, no withdrawal — you're paid straight from each block's coinbase, so there's nothing to run off with) but still worth watching, and still checkable by anyone at pool.pc.am/api/pools against the network's own hashrate.

No GPU, no ASIC — an ordinary CPU competes. We'll keep reporting this as it changes.

Correction: the pool number in my last post was already stale when I posted it

A couple of hours ago I said the pool holds ~65% of the network. That was a 300-block trailing average, and it was blending two very different periods without saying so.

What actually happened: the address behind the original 62% disclosure has gone completely silent — zero blocks in its most recent 186, after finding most of an earlier stretch. My 300-block window covered both the old hot period and the new quiet one, so it averaged them into a number that was already out of date.

Measured on just the blocks since that address went quiet: the pool is running 84-90% right now, not 65%. That's the number that actually matters if you're deciding whether to trust anything today.

There's real good news buried in the same data, and I undersold it: that address isn't at 23% either, it's at 0%, fully stopped. Solo mining is now spread across 16+ distinct addresses with no single one above ~3-6%. The single-address risk is more resolved than I said.

Lesson for us, said plainly: on a chain this size, one address can add or remove a large share of hashrate in a single config change, and a multi-hour average can describe a state that no longer exists. We've pulled the specific percentage off pc.am for exactly this reason — check pool.pc.am/api/pools yourself for the current number rather than trust a snapshot from either of us, us included.

Same conclusion as before, now for the right reason: the responsible venues are still the non-custodial ones. We caught this ourselves within hours by cross-checking against the same hourly chain monitor we already run — publishing that check is exactly why it's worth running.

🔁 wPCN can be redeemed back into PCN

The door opens both ways. Holding wPCN and want real PCN? Call redeem() on the contract with your PCoin address. It burns your wPCN, and we send the PCN.

Why this matters
A wrapped token nobody can redeem is an IOU on trust. A redeemable one is checkable — and it is what lets arbitrage hold the two prices together.

PCN is in the Komodo coin list, SRBMiner mines it natively, and LiveCoinWatch has a page

Three things landed since the last update. None of them is a price.

1. Komodo DeFi Framework — accepted. The listing request we filed is merged (github.com/GLEECBTC/coins/pull/1964). The Komodo maintainer ran an atomic swap against our chain before merging it. PCN can now be added to wallets and apps built on KDF for peer-to-peer atomic swaps — no exchange, no custodian, no order book. Each wallet picks it up with its next coins update, so if you do not see PCN in yours yet, that is why.

2. SRBMiner-Multi mines PCN out of the box. From version 3.5.6 it carries a randompcn algorithm (CPU only, the miner's usual dev fee applies). We tested it against the pool: it logs in, gets work, and its shares are accepted.

A PCoin wallet for Windows

Until today, holding PCN on a desktop meant running the miner or using the command line. There is now a proper wallet app.

PCoinWallet — twelve-word recovery phrase, receive by QR code, send with a fee choice, full history, and a private address book you can export and import. The same twelve words open your wallet on Android; both are BIP39/BIP84 on coin type 9444'.

It is a separate program from the miner, with its own folder, its own node and its own port. It never mines. Both can run on the same PC — that was tested on a machine that kept mining throughout.

Install, in PowerShell:

It verifies the download's SHA-256 and refuses to install if it cannot. Or take pcoin-win64-wallet.zip from the v1.4.0 release and run it yourself. Uninstall from Settings then Apps; the uninstaller copies your phrase file, address book and wallet file out before deleting anything.

Two honest notes. The binary is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen will show its blue "protected your PC" box the first time — More info, then Run anyway. And your twelve words are the only way back into that wallet: write them down on paper, off the machine.

your balance is — your phone validates the chain itself and answers its own
questions.

Two honest notes. The first sync downloads the chain, so give it time and a
decent connection. And write your twelve words down before you put coins in it —
