Centre has moved a bill in the Parliament to exclude the Chief Justice of India from the process to appoint the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India and other poll body officers.
As per the Bill, CEC and Election Commissioners (ECs) will be selected by a panel comprising Prime Minister, Opposition leader and a Union Minister nominated by the PM.
