Get revved up for the drop of the summer! Origin is excited to unveil a first-ever NFT collection, together with the world-famous West Coast Customs, titled The Metaverse Drop. This inaugural release represents the culmination of nearly 30 years of innovation, disruption, and groundbreaking ingenuity in the car customization space.

Introducing the most significant upgrade to the OUSD DApp since it launched last year. Now ousd.com compares the price of buying Origin Dollar from decentralized exchanges versus minting it from the Origin Vault!
The DApp currently works with multiple smart contracts that are able to swap between OUSD and the 3 major stablecoins (USDT, USDC and DAI):
✅ Origin Vault: the primary contract for minting and redeeming OUSD.
✅ OUSD Swap: a simple 1:1 coin swap contract that is provided by Origin to offer gas-optimized trading of OUSD. While limited in both functionality and liquidity, this simple contract uses about 45% less gas than Uniswap.

August was a very busy month for Origin! We announced our transition to decentralized governance with the launch of our OGN governance portal and opened up our weekly DeFi meetings to public participation.
Additionally, our OUSD liquidity pool was added to Curve Finance's UI, placing Origin Dollar on the most important stablecoin exchange in DeFi.

🏦 The OUSD DApp has been added to the Gnosis Safe App Store. This means you can now open the Origin Dollar DApp from within your Gnosis Safe to manage your OUSD directly from your favorite multi-sig wallet to more securely interact with your holdings!
In addition, the Gnosis app store already contains integrations from other leading DeFi projects, which allows users to do even more. For example, you could use your ETH as collateral to mint DAI using the Oasis app from Maker, then use that DAI to buy OUSD, all without leaving the security of your multi-sig. It doesn’t get much safer than that!

September was another exciting month for Origin. Continued progress was made on Origin Dollar’s integration into Curve.fi and we broke NFT records yet again as the result of an exciting collaboration between ourselves, Polygon, and Inspiration4 for SpaceX’s recent Falcon 9 launch.
We also announced a crossover partnership with C.R.E.A.M Finance that integrates DeFi with NFTs and announced a major exchange listing for OGN.

🔬 We have recently asked the team at OpenZeppelin to analyze the smart contracts that power Origin Dollar, including the vault and the yield-generating strategies. We are happy to report that after five weeks they did not find any major issues that could have resulted in a loss of funds for our users!
Security is of the highest importance at Origin. These smart contracts represent the core of OUSD and are also the biggest attack vector for hackers and exploits. In addition to conducting our own internal audits, we have had external audits performed by some of the most reputable firms in the space, including Trail of Bits, Solidified, Certora, and now OpenZeppelin.
