Top priority fire in state w multiple resources here fighting including Tx forestry service, numerous local and out of state fire dept, airdrop support 5 lg air tanker (LAT) 2 very lg air tankers (VLAT) yesterday LAT did 27 loads VLAT -7 , more today and in coming days, 6 water scoopers from west Tx. Each time the LAT and VLAT make a drop they have to fly back to Austin to refill. They’ve dropped >62k gallons retardant and tens thousands gallons water.. we have a TFR - temp flight restrictions so that emergency crews can fight this still very active fire.

As of yesterday 16 homes lost, 5 damaged and that’s only residential.. not including non-residential structures. Praise God no serious injuries and livestock is continuously being rescued and relocated to safety. The town has asked for a pause in donations bc they literally have no where else to put stuff. That’s what I love about small towns.

There are still good hearted people in this world. Who would rise and fight evil, and will drop everything and offer their land, equipment, homes, barns etc for those that have had to evacuate and have lost homes. Nurses on location at site command treating first responders for heat exhaustion. This is a 24/7 fight. A local family who ran a restaurant with their 3 children, lost 2 of their kids 4 months ago in a car wreck, the daughter had fought and won battle against leukemia 2x.. including her jr / sr high school… killed in wreck. They haven’t opened restaurant back up since they lost 2 of their children as they grieve but they have been up their cooking, and serving the community that has helped them when they needed it.
Do not let the propaganda news, fear of virus - wuflu monkey pox whatever instill fear! No one cares about a virus in my town, there is no social distancing, no masks, no shot ID cards.
This is loving your neighbor. Opening your home, land, farm equipment, rvs, going through closets pulling every piece of clothing you don’t wear, driving to stores and loading up with equipment for our first responders, bringing food for the livestock , etc. that’s all that matters right now.
