Today, we are introducing a brand new OrangeFox Recovery site. This new web site uses the OrangeFox API, and was created by @JackOfBadTrades.

From now you can easily find and download releases for your device.

Our website is fully opensource - https://gitlab.com/OrangeFox/site/dsite

The new web site is orangefox.download
We have implemented a major upgrade to our OrangeFox API, with our new API v2.

Please read the new documentation - https://wiki.orangefox.tech/en/dev/api

The old API v1 is now abandoned (read the same page if you are using API v1).

Build your apps with our API and integrate OrangeFox Recovery in your sites!
Today, we have added support of translation to our wiki page (https://wiki.orangefox.tech) in our Π‘rowdin. Help us translate it.

OrangeFox Recovery is increasing exponentially in popularity every day. With this growth comes higher expectations from users. We are responding by raising our own expectations for general OrangeFox stability on all devices.

From now a maintainer will be able to release a 'Stable' build only if his build is bugless, especially regarding features like MIUI OTA (on Xiaomi devices) and Decryption.

'Stable' builds (especially the initial release) need to be fully and properly tested before release. Any build that is not fully and properly tested will now be restricted to release in the 'Beta' branch only. Currently, these restrictions will be applied only to new devices.

We also encourage you to support this initiative and help us make OrangeFox Recovery more bugless than ever.

Read our wiki about how to make proper reports and send reports to @OrangeFoxChat

OrangeFox Recovery R11.0 is near. R11.0 heralds a new era for OrangeFox Recovery. We started development in last year, and right now we are adding finishing touches. You can find the changelog here.

Very soon we will start updating our devices to the R11.0 version.

Release timeline:
11-12 July: Stable R11.0 release for lavender
18-19 July: Stable R11.0 release for devices that successfully passed beta testing
19-20 July: The OrangeFox Recovery R11.0 sources will be made public

We have a week's window after the lavender release to be sure that R11.0 is even more thoroughly tested. After that, other devices will come with stable releases.

If your device is not updated at this time, please don't ask us about it. Maintainers also have a life, and they will make their releases at their earliest convenience.

Kudos to the OrangeFox Recovery devs!

R11.0 for Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 (lavender) after moving the deadline, is finally released.

Download it here (https://orangefox.download/en/build/lavender/stable/R11.0). In that time (3 days) we have patched potentially critical issues.

Other timelines are not moved, and all should be as expected.

Also, we want to remind you that you should please NOT ask us about new updates. Updates will be released smoothly, after sustained beta-testing, and when we are sure that releases will be bugless.

Today we have updated our bot (@ofoxr_bot). It was rewritten from scratch, and is now faster, better, and supports new features:
- From now admins can subscribe chats/channels to individual devices. This will also work in pm - type /subscriptionhelp in the bot's PM to get started.
- Partial localization support translations have been added on our crowdin page.

For our bot we created our own python library and updated our API. You can read about the changes in the development news channel

As you people might have noticed, the development of OrangeFox's Android 11 sources is a bit slower than usual. The main reason for this being that none of the core Developers have a device to work on that utilizes GKI, Virtual A/B or any of the other Android11 specific features.

To tackle this, we have decided to open crowdfunding for a Xiaomi Poco F3. The device will go to one of the core developers to ensure that OrangeFox will support all the new features.
In addition to that, the device will be officially maintained.

Please consider making a contribution.
OrangeFox is fully open-source, free, doesn't have ads, and is still going on only because of Your support.
