HTTPS ialah versi HTTP yang selamat dan disulitkan, direka untuk melindungi data pengguna dengan menggunakan protokol SSL/TLS, manakala HTTP menghantar data dalam teks biasa. HTTPS menghalang pihak ketiga daripada memintas maklumat sensitif, menampilkan ikon mangga dalam pelayar dan menyediakan SEO, keselamatan dan kepercayaan yang unggul berbanding HTTP.

Perbezaan Utama

Keselamatan: HTTP tidak menawarkan penyulitan (teks biasa). HTTPS menggunakan SSL/TLS untuk menyulitkan data, memberikan kerahsiaan, integriti dan pengesahan.

Kepercayaan/Petunjuk: Pelayar menandakan laman HTTP sebagai "Tidak Selamat," manakala laman HTTPS memaparkan ikon mangga.

Kerentanan Data: Trafik HTTP boleh dipintas atau dibaca dengan mudah oleh penggodam. HTTPS memastikan bahawa walaupun dipintas, data tidak boleh dibaca.

Penggunaan Port: HTTP menggunakan port 80 secara lalai, manakala HTTPS menggunakan port 443.

Prestasi: Walaupun HTTPS secara sejarahnya sedikit lebih perlahan disebabkan oleh penyulitan, teknologi moden menjadikan perbezaan ini boleh diabaikan.

SEO: Enjin carian seperti Google mengutamakan laman HTTPS, meletakkannya lebih tinggi daripada rakan sejawat HTTP.

Bila Perlu Menggunakan Yang Mana?

HTTP: Sesuai untuk laman web awam dan statik tanpa input pengguna atau data sensitif.

HTTPS: Wajib untuk laman web yang mengumpul kelayakan pengguna, memproses pembayaran atau mengendalikan maklumat peribadi.
