While I hope that the SCOTUS rules correctly on the matter of Birthright Citizenship, I'm well aware of the chance that they'll come to the wrong conclusion becasue John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett have proven themselves to be untrustworthy on several occasions, choosing to side with the Three Stooges (Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson) who are ALWAYS a reliable 'whatever ISN'T in America's best interest' vote.

Honestly, it's embarrassing that any one of these three low IQ jurists would be on our highest court. That this imbicillic trifecta is serving out a lifetime appointment concurrently is nothing short of a pox on our nation.

FWIW, I think Solicitor General John Sauer crushed it today. The guy is a clinic.

What if Alcatraz were used to hold upcoming trials, including temporarily housing those awaiting trial?

You've gotta admit that from an optics standpoint it would really be a narrative banger. Not to mention that its location would make it impossible for protesters to gather/riot outside wherever else said trials might have taken place.

The tell is that fully restoring the facility would cost far more than $152M... a lot more. This feels more like the kind of money needed to tidy up the place and refurbish the cell block.
