Hey! For those who are not aware, some episodes are being recorded in a public theater open to public. Things worked very well today and I arrived ahead of time. I only need to get the comm up to have Katia joining from the city she lives in.
There are 3 local projects, one of them related to the podcast, that Katia and I have been working on. Despite being only for locals, maybe you would find interesting finding what other singing activities we have been related recently. Also, we know there are many of you who don't know our faces because there's not been any recent activity with video (spoiler alert that will change soon!!). This interview happened 3 w3eeks ago for a local magazine, in case you would like to watch it. Click here
I'm pretty sure most of our followers don't know this duet, that really deserves to be part of recitals more often. Truth is that most singers stay with what is well known, and more if it is in Italian, which is not the case. I know you will enjoy this duet that for many people is Maestro Tchaikovsky's way of reminding us of the great beauty Maestro Mozart created. Post can be found here:
O Mio Babbino Caro is one of the Opera arias that are well known, even if you have never been interested in Opera. It has appeared in many movies and even tv commercials around the world. You can find this lovely piece of music as the first episode of the Dissection season. Here's the link to our post . Or you can go directly to the episode in Buzzsprout here
(1/4) The OEPV put together this April 2024 a number of young talented musicians (many of them still kids) in Puerto Vallarta. They closed their activities with a concert, of which I am sharing 3 pieces I could record. Provided they are still studying you will find opportunities and weak parts in each of the pieces. But I think that what we can keep for ourselves is the immense joy and pride of seeing that they are the musicians of the future.
(2/4) The Bacchanal from Samson et Dalila, oh my oh my!!! One of my favorites Orchestral parts by Maestro Saint Saëns. I can't wait to see their improvement in this one. And the ocean in the background is ideal.
(3/4) The Overture 1812 by Maestro Tchaikovsky, another of my favorites as well. I recall my first thoughts were that this one was very ambitious as proposed by the Director and then I also thought that challenging this young boys and girls was a good way to go.
