NOTICE: DON’T DO THIS

I sent an email with the same message included in the post above where we called for volunteers.

The email clearly states to watch the video on the group and then fill the form. So I don’t understand why some of you are replying the email to tell me you want to volunteer for this and that positions.

It shows that you didn’t even bother to read the email or watch the less than 90 seconds video.

Please note that if you are one of those people who sent me such email, you will not even be considered for a volunteering position as you have just demonstrated that you don’t know how to follow instructions or even be patient enough to read them.

A few days ago, I shared in a video announcement, openings for Internship and Volunteering positions at the Online Publishers and Entrepreneurs Network. You can watch it on the Telegram channel too: t.me/OpenUpdates

I posted the link to the application for people who wanted the opportunity to work with us, some of these positions are paid positions. The form is straight forward: fill in your name, age, sex, where you’d like to intern and for how long.

Then share your CV, Cover Letter, Portfolio or links to your previous experiences, and of course a one minute video literally iterating what you said in your cover letter.

Instead, I’ve got people who read the information, may or may not have watched the video, and then proceeded to completely ignore everything and instead were sending emails saying they’re “interested”.

The reason we ask you to send in your CV, Cover Letter, Portfolio and a One Minute Video, is to help us know your capabilities and examine your competencies.

OPEN is an organization and we are looking for people who could become permanent members of our team. If you cannot be bothered to send in these simple requirements, how then do you expect us to have faith in you, and offer you a place in our team?

HERE IS HOW TO SURVIVE THE LAST 3 MONTHS OF 2022

Good morning OPENers and Happy Independence Day to all Nigerians, to who this post will resonate the most with.

While some may argue that there isn't much to celebrate today, I choose to look at the bright side, express gratitude and be intentional about everything.

The Nigerian Presidential elections are around the corner and this will probably be the most significant election since the switch to Democracy in 1999.

I am not here to talk politics, remember it's not part of our objectives here in this group.
I don't care what your political affiliations are. Here, we all share one goal that has nothing to do with politics.

That being said, we all know tensions are running high and uncertainty looms. Things will especially be bad for the unprepared.

So how do you prepare to survive and even thrive in the next 3 months? Here's a list of things you MUST have and do now:

First, ensure you are cash liquid. What does it mean to be cash liquid? It means you have enough money at your disposal, especially in the case of an emergency or crisis.

To be cash liquid, you must learn to EARN a lot of money FAST, and SAVE aggressively. This isn't the time to buy luxury ostentatious things. Buy only what is necessary.

How can you earn a lot of money fast? Create and sell digital products like eBooks, Workbooks, Courses, Classes etc. Or sell other people's digital products and get paid a commission when someone buys.

Secondly, get your passport. I don't need to tell you this but I feel someone needs to be reminded. You need to be able to leave at a moment's notice should a need arise.

See what happened in Afghanistan, Ukraine and now Russia this year alone. If you think it cannot happen in Nigeria, then you must be living under a rock. You see why being cash liquid is important?

If you have a passport but cannot book a flight to Ghana or Rwanda or Kenya at a moment's notice, I don't know what to say.
Go on Wakanow or TravelBeta and go check the prices of flight tickets.

Check hotel or AirBnB accommodations and Google where your passport can get you into Visa Free. Start planning your emergency "japa" fund.

Third, hold some internationally accepted currency. The Dollar and Pound Sterling are examples of international currency.

International currency is any currency that is universally accepted anywhere in the world. Your Naira will do you no good outside the shores of Nigeria.

I don't know how you will get it, but get it. Find a way to exchange some of that liquid cash into an international currency.

Just to add, get a dollar denominated card as well, from your bank. Any grown Nigerian should have one of these.

If you cannot get any of these, download the Vesti app by Sola Amusan. Their virtual dollar cards are now available.

Fourth, get your PVC. Don't even start arguing with me about "why?" I will delete any comments I see.

Get your PVC and decide your future and that of our future generations. In case you're wondering, yes, I have mine. I had it since 2011.

Fifth, if you haven't been listening to my message about going global since 2020, please, I beg you in the name of all that is good, start thinking about expanding your influence globally.

For the next 3 months, I will focus my message heavily on building cash liquidity and going global.

You don't need to "japa" to go global if you don't want to. You can do so right from your home.
