Today, everyone wants to grow an audience/followership, but instead of just choosing one social media platform and hoping people follow you, and then having no real, clear direction, you can choose to become more intentional with your process and method, and build a community instead.

First of all, before we even begin to talk about building a community, we must first define its foundations. I have established that a thriving and profitable Community is built on 4 pillars:
1. Culture
2. People
3. Process
4. Purpose

Or you can call it the C3P Framework™️. Without these 4 pillars, your community cannot stand, not to talk of thriving. Every community, whether online or offline, must install these 4 pillars if you want to build sustainability and loyalty in the long run.

From tomorrow, I will take you through these 4 pillars via email, and how you can apply them to designing and building your own thriving and profitable community, whether online or offline.

Good morning OPENers. If you did Biology in School, you know what the term “Moulting” means.

Some animals like the crab, grow new soft shells under their old shells, and will have to “shed” that old shell so they can grow into their new shell.

When a crab is moulting, it is at its most vulnerable because the old, hard, protective shell is gone, and the new shell is soft, leaving the crab unprotected for a while.

During this time, the crab knows that it is best to go into hiding as it waits for the new shell to absorb the calcium from the water, in order for the shell to harden.

As people, we also go through a process of moulting from time to time, as we do personal development and evolve to become better versions of who we are.

As with the crab, it is important to “go into hiding” when moulting. This doesn’t mean to disappear and be afraid. No, it means to be still, absorb the knowledge which you have gathered. Meditate on it, practice in silence and allow it to harden and become useable again.

What does this mean in business? When you find yourself evolving in your niche, learning new strategies, practices and developing new ideas, now’s not the time to start teaching it and looking for how to monetize now now.

Instead, keep quiet. Go into your quiet place and ruminate on what you have learned. Become your first student and client.

Practice it on yourself. Get undeniable results and document it. Refine your results over and over again until it becomes a part of you.

You will find that it is not everything you learn that you need to share. Keep some for yourself. Have your own unique selling point that only you have privy to.

Don’t run your mouth and end up creating mini versions of you and then start complaining that your clients/students are “copying” everything you do.

Allow yourself to moult in private and when you finally emerge, you will be bigger, stronger and a completely different person, miles away from those who consider y themselves your competition.
