📢 New OxygenOS update is live for 13R | CPH2691_16.0.3.500

Delight in details

- Adds a bypass charging feature. When gaming, live streaming, watching videos, navigating, or in other high-load situations, you can now connect to the charger for bypass charging. This feature lets you simultaneously use and charge your phone without harming the battery, while also reducing overheating.
- Improves app categorization in Drawer mode by adding the "Office" and "Finance" categories to make it easier to find apps.
- Integrates the January 2026 Android security patch to enhance system security.

Changes not mentioned in logs:

- Now you can use Circle to search without the navigation bar.
- Sports live alerts are finally working now.
- AI Writer is working now, but still doesn't work for anything China doesn't like. AI writer just crashes instead and suggests other AI apps.

Initially the update will be available under Beta program > Release Candidate.

Since there is some confusion related to this, let's sum it up!

What's Possible:

- Unlockin BL
- Flashing ROMs based on newer firmware (FW)

What's not possible:

- Downgrading base FW or flashing older versions of stock rom / custom roms based on older FW. Doing the same will result in hard bricks!
- Unbricking device with older available exploit's or tools which used to work with older FW versions

Conclusion:

- OEM is becoming more restrictive eventually, look for other brands for seamless tinkering scope in future.
- Probably a move to make open EDL methods redundant.
