PM Johnson: Russian Gas vs Defend Ukraine – EU Must Decide

British PM Boris Johnson has warned Western European leaders that they will have to decide between “mainlining ever more Russian hydrocarbons in giant new pipelines and sticking up for Ukraine and championing the cause of peace and stability.”

Johnson also weighed in on what he called Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko’s “abhorrent” use of migrants to splinter European border policy and unity.

His comments come after US Sec of State Anthony Blinken suggested Lukashenko was trying to help distract from “Russia’s activities on the border with Ukraine”, which Kremlin spox Dmitry Peskov labelled “cheap fake news”.

Washington AG takes on Big Pharma over opioid epidemic - rejects $500mn settlement

Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson insists the US’ biggest three drug companies - McKesson, Cardinal Health and AmerisourceBergen - MUST face the music for the state’s opioid epidemic.

"These companies knew what would happen if they failed to meet their duties," Ferguson said. “They displayed a callous disregard for the communities and people who bear the impact of their greed."

Ferguson originally sued the corporations in 2019, seeking $38bn to pay for treatment services, criminal justice costs and education programs, alleging they privately mocked people suffering the painful effects of opioid dependence.
