The Department of Justice continues to bring affordability to the American people. Today, we announced a historic settlement with Agri Stats, whose business model directly raised the price of chicken, turkey, and pork in local grocery stores across our nation. 🐔🐖⚖️

Previously, Agri Stats’ business model allowed for the sharing of confidential information among only meat producers, putting buyers of meat—like grocery stores and restaurants— at a competitive disadvantage.

Under this business model, the prices of meat only went up and YOU, the American consumer, were left holding the bill.

Under President Trump’s leadership, the Justice Department’s settlement forces Agri Stats to make its reports available to ALL buyers and sellers to ensure every level of the food supply chain operates on an even playing field. This settlement means that meat prices will go DOWN for consumers.

Kudos to our @JusticeATRA/AAG Omeed Assefi, @SecRollins, @RealPNavarro, along with the six states joining this historic agreement, for pushing to get immediate cost relief for the American people.

This is one step forward to stopping anticompetitive behavior in the food supply chain. This DOJ will never stop fighting for the American people.
