You rarely see this level of disruptive noise during protests about climate change or LGBTQ+ rights.

Those sudden, sharp sounds deliberately trigger the acoustic startle response—a fast, involuntary brainstem reflex that causes muscle tightening, spiked heart rate, and a surge of adrenaline.

Repeated exposure to these noises fatigues certain neural pathways while keeping the nervous system in a state of chronic high alert. This drains mental resources, forcing the brain to shift focus from complex thinking to basic threat detection and survival instincts.

It's a potent acute stressor: it activates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and the sympathetic nervous system, flooding the body with cortisol and adrenaline. Prolonged exposure like this can impair prefrontal cortex function—the brain region responsible for rational decision-making, impulse control, and judgment.

When someone gets injured or worse, the narrative quickly paints all the officers as guilty aggressors.

These aren't spontaneous or random events. They're organized tactics. Roughly 80% of the people protesting likely have no idea they're being used as unwitting cannon fodder by their own side—placed in harm's way to manufacture outrage when things inevitably escalate.

The parents of Alex Pretti say their son quit his hospital job months ago and had shown “unusual behavior” recently. “He seemed to have joined some kind of group. We warned him two weeks ago — protest if you want, but don’t engage, don’t do anything stupid,” his father, Michael Pretti, told reporters. “He said he understood.” But it wasn’t until police pulled messages from Alex’s phone that the truth began to emerge — and what investigators found.

It seems that Pretti's parents didn't want him participating. It seems Pretti allegedly scrubbed his social media presence one day prior to his actions leading to his death. When you make decisions based on emotions, you make poor decisions. He made bad decisions.

I’m a 2A absolutist. You have a right to carry, not a privilege.

But rights come with restrictions, you need your ID & permit on you. Reports say Pretti had neither.

He wasn’t carrying legally.
