There's a clear reason why these demonstrators rely on whistles, air horns, and constant loud noise in the videos you're seeing.

You rarely see this level of disruptive noise during protests about climate change or LGBTQ+ rights.

Those sudden, sharp sounds deliberately trigger the acoustic startle response—a fast, involuntary brainstem reflex that causes muscle tightening, spiked heart rate, and a surge of adrenaline.

Repeated exposure to these noises fatigues certain neural pathways while keeping the nervous system in a state of chronic high alert. This drains mental resources, forcing the brain to shift focus from complex thinking to basic threat detection and survival instincts.
