Before Doge, There Was Mitsuki

Long before Doge became a meme, the Shiba Inu behind it had another name, Mitsuki (みつき), meaning beautiful moon 🌕

During a recent visit to Chiba, Japan, the region where Kabosu was first rescued, the CTO team uncovered compelling evidence suggesting that Mitsuki was her original name. Among the findings was a vaccination certificate tied to that period, offering a glimpse into a quieter part of the Doge story that few had seen.

At Kabosu’s memorial event, we had the chance to meet Kabosumama, and in a deeply meaningful gesture, she signed a copy of her new book, Forever, in the name of Mitsuki.

Mitsuki was the name before the meme, the quiet beginning of a story that would become the first memecoin ever; a name that seemed to foreshadow the Doge saga before the world even knew it had begun.

$MITSUKI is a tribute to that origin. 🐕🐾
