*Where Do We Stand?*

The Islamic New Year is just around the corner, but do we actually know where we stand in the Islamic calendar?

Many of us can track every celebrity trend, World Cup kickoff, and late-night match time, yet we lose track of our own history.

The upcoming month of Muharram is one of the four sacred months (Ashhur al-Hurum) and a vital time to understand our roots and the profound history it signifies.

Let's shift our focus from what is trending in society to what truly matters.

Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه said,

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Al-Madinah, he found the Jews fasting the day of Ashura'. Therefore he asked them about it and they said, This is the day that Allah gave Musa عليه السلام victory over Fir`awn.' Then, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'We have more right to Musa عليه السلام (than them), so fast it.'"

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Alhamdulillah, a generous collection was made at Masjid Bilal, Luton in support of four brothers from Luton who are cycling over 300 miles through four countries (Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, and Italy). This effort is in aid of various emergency appeals, helping to provide essential support to Syria, Gaza, Sudan, and other across the Muslim Ummah.

The total amount raised was *£415.16*. May Allah ﷻ accept it from everyone at Masjid Bilal and all the donors. Aameen.

_*“Charity does not decrease wealth.”*_ _(Sahih Muslim)_

May Allah ﷻ place barakah in every pound given, accept it, make it a means of ease, mercy and relief for those in need across the Ummah. Aameen

Jazak’Allahu Khayran from The Luton Strollers & One Nation
