A powerful earthquake has killed at least 1000 people and left over 1500 injured in Afghanistan. The earthquake was magnitude 6.1 and at a depth of 51km. The quake struck about 44km (27 miles) from the south-eastern city of Khost
Amongst those who are affected are children, widows, elderly and disabled. Hospitals have also been destroyed and medical assistance is scarce.
The One Nation team are doing an immediate response to this emergency providing hot meals, food packs, malnutrition packs, hygiene kits and water bottles.
One Nation will also look to help by building homes for those who have been displaced due to this natural disaster.

*So far over 1000 bodies have been found and over 1500 people are injured. An assessment on the ground has found, victims of the earthquake are in dire need of shelter, blankets, water and living essentials.*
