The world's next major human disaster is in the making in China. This time, we should act before it's too late.
The Uyghurs are mostly Muslim, with approximately 11 million in western China's Xinjiang region.
China is facing growing criticism over its persecution of some Muslim minority groups, huge numbers of whom are allegedly being held in internment camps.
In August 2018, a UN human rights committee was told there were credible reports that around a million people may have been detained, and held in what resembles a prison camp.
Anyone who had contacted someone abroad via WhatsApp was targeted and people in camps are made to learn Mandarin Chinese, swear loyalty to President Xi Jinping, and criticise or renounce their faith.
Human rights watch says Uyghur people are subject to intense surveillance, from facial recognition cameras to QR codes on people's doors, Uyghur's are reportedly made to undergo DNA and biometric tests.
Former prisoners told BBC reporters of physical and mental torture in the camps, with entire families disappearing.
China denies such camps exist but say people in Xinjiang are receiving "vocational training".
There is growing criticism of China's treatment of Uyghur Muslims in the international community yet no country has taken any action.

Umm Mohamed is from the city of Aleppo. Her husband passed away leaving her to look after their orphaned children.
Umm Mohamed now lives in the new One Nation village. Her home is fully furnished with carpets, sofas, beds, heaters, washing machine and a Gas cooker.
*The village has facilities such as :*
1) Free health care
2) Solar water station providing clean water & electricity
3) Prayer and educational facilities
4) Women's empowerment centre
5) Clothing and Grocery Store
6) Youth centre

This is 4 year old Naseem. She was only 1 year and 3 months old when she was injured and lost both her legs when a missile hit her home. The same week that she learnt to walk.
We happy to inform you that she is now being treated in our *PALS prosthetic centre in Syria* and she already walking again on her new limbs alhumdulillah.
On average, each patient is costing us around £1000 to provide a high standard of Prosthetic limb.
