*Tanzania Deployment Update – 24th June 2019*

*Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime*

Today we started the day very early and took a short flight from Dar Es Salaam to Zanzibar. In Zanzibar we met numerous widows, orphans and poor families. We were able to support them by providing them with sewing machines, freezers and much more.
The distribution we done today will enable the families to earn a livelihood and support their loved ones.

Each family we met had a story, more heart breaking than the last.
One of the mothers we met was Salma Saif. She has 6 children. Her husband left her and doesn’t want anything to do with her. Unfortunately her house burnt down before Ramadan, resulting in her losing everything she owned. She now lives in a temporary accommodation and is looking to start her life all over again. With the kind donations from everyone in the UK, we were able to give her a sewing machine. She will now use the sewing machine to support her young children.

We were also able to provide 2 sewing machines and a computer to a local girls school. The school will use the sewing machines and the computer to providing training for their students and equip them with essential life skills. This was truly an amazing feeling as we are making a real difference in the lives of so many students.

We have also started to dig a deep water well in an area called Bititi. This water well will provide clean drinking water to an entire community.

Today has been a very inspiring day where we have been able to meet many families and understand their needs. By listening to the needs of those in need we have been able to gain a better understanding on how we can help them best.
