📊 Total Districts under Security Related Expenditure (SRE) Scheme (March 2026)
Total: 38 districts (in 9 states)
No change in total number, but internal re-categorization done.

📂 Three Categories of Districts

1. LWE Affected Districts (2 districts): Areas where active violence still continues
Examples: Bijapur (Chhattisgarh)
West Singhbhum (Jharkhand)

2. Districts of Concern (2 districts)
Violence controlled, but few cadres remain Near becoming LWE-free
Examples:
Kanker (Chhattisgarh)
Kandhamal (Odisha)

3. Legacy & Thrust Districts (34 districts)
Legacy: No active LWE, but support needed to sustain peace
Thrust: Potential areas for LWE expansion → need monitoring & capacity building
Change:
+4 districts added
−1 district removed
