Mark 16:9-16 (KJV)

⁹Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

¹⁰And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

¹¹And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

¹²After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.

¹³And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.

¹⁴AFTERWARD HE APPEARED UNTO THE ELEVEN as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

¹⁵And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

¹⁶He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

People who believe faith keeps them saved,

are one step away from believing that losing faith, will make them lose their salvation.

But because they believe salvation cannot be lost, that's why they HAVE to say that Losing Faith is Impossible.

It's is NOT your faith keeping you saved. God keeps you saved after that initial moment you believed. YOU are NOT keeping yourself saved.

A brief exposition through John 15:3-11

The end result of abiding in Christ is joy.

No mention in this passage (or anywhere else in Scripture) of a “loss of salvation.”

FREE GRACE THEOLOGY IS THE BIBLICAL TRUTH — PART II

What happened to the Galatians?

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
—Galatians 1:6
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
—Galatians 3:1
But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
—Galatians 4:9
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
—Galatians 5:1
Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
—Galatians 5:7

It is clear that the Galatians stopped believing the gospel and fell into a works-based salvation. Notice in the above verses that Paul expresses how they fell from what was preached unto them before. In order to fall from something, you need to have been there to begin with! This proves that a 100% saved person can in fact reject the gospel because of the temptation of hereticks.

But notice how Paul referred to the Galatians in spite of them falling into unbelief...

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
—Galatians 3:26
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
—Galatians 4:28
So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
—Galatians 4:31
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
—Galatians 5:1

Despite the Galatians falling into unbelief, rejecting the one and only gospel that saves, Paul STILL called them brethren. Why? Because eternal life is given at ONE MOMENT OF BELIEF, and that belief can cease afterward in ANYONE if they do not continue in the word and refresh themselves in Bible knowledge.

Did you know that HERESY is a work of the flesh?

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
—Galatians 5:19-20

Notice also one of the fruits of the Spirit...

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
—Galatians 5:22

We understand that a saved person is not always going to walk in the Spirit, and if one of the works of the flesh is heresy, then a saved person is 100% able to fall into heresy and cease having faith. And we know that faith is what saves a person...

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
—Romans 4:20-22

The conclusion is simple: A saved eternally secure person is able to cease from the faith that he once had which saved him.

FREE GRACE THEOLOGY IS THE BIBLICAL TRUTH — PART III

Free Grace — A saved person is 100% eternally secure, but is able to later reject Jesus Christ and stop believing in him.

What is the purpose of 2 Peter?

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
—2 Peter 1:5-9

If a saved person is supposedly always going to continue believing the gospel of Jesus Christ, why is Peter warning the readers about the possibility of forgetting? Because a saved eternally secure person is at the threat of losing that saving faith if he is not exercising these things written here in verses 5-7.

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
—2 Peter 1:10-11

Why again is Peter warning about the possibility of a saved eternally secure saint to fall away? BECAUSE IT IS POSSIBLE even though he is still saved.

Furthermore, have you ever asked yourself why Peter in chapter 1 warns about the possibility of falling from the gospel and exhorting the readers to continue in it, to afterward in chapter 2 proceed to warn about false prophets and reprobates?

1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
—2 Peter 2:1-3

Why would Peter warn about something that can't happen? The conclusion simple: If a saved person does not add to his faith (chapter 1) he is vulnerable to the influence of false teachers (chapter 2).

And look what we see at the end of the epistle...

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
—2 Peter 3:17

The purpose of 2 Peter is to warn the brethren of the dangers of not adding to our faith.
