The U.S. has launched an international task force to go after the private property of Russian individuals.

The Russian Elites, Proxies, and Oligarchs (REPO) multilateral task force also involves Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, France, Japan, the UK and the European Commission.

The task's member states will cooperate to “seize and freeze” assets of wealthy and influential Russian citizens, who “enable the Russian government to continue its unjust war against Ukraine.”

Ukraine has accused Russia of carrying out a deliberate air strike on a drama theater that serves as a shelter for civilians in Mariupol.

Russia has officially denied this allegation and said that the theater was blown up with explosive charges set off by the Azov Battalion to provoke a strong international reaction.

Western mainstream media outlets such as CNN quickly jumped on the story, repeating the Ukrainian allegation without mentioning the Russian version of the attack or noting that hard evidence has not yet been provided to corroborate the air strike assertion.

8-Year CIA Program Helped Provoke Russian Invasion: Report

CIA paramilitaries had been training Ukrainian forces on the frontlines of the Donbas war against Russian-backed separatists since 2014 and were only pulled out by the Biden administration last month, Yahoo News reported on Wednesday, citing former US officials.

The CIA first sent a small number of paramilitaries to eastern Ukraine when the war started in 2014, which was sparked by a US-backed coup in Kyiv and the Donbas separatists declaring independence from the post-coup government.

As part of the training, CIA paramilitaries taught Ukrainian forces sniper techniques, how to operate US-provided Javelin anti-tank missiles, and how to avoid being tracked on the battlefield by using covert communications and other means. The former officials said at first the CIA was surprised at the capability of Russia and the separatists compared with US adversaries in the Middle East.

The US continues to fuel the fighting as President Biden has already pledged over $1 billion in new military aid for Ukraine since the invasion started.

The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported late on March 18 that it had lost access to the Sea of Azov as Russian forces continue to tighten their grip around the major port city of Mariupol, known for being a stronghold of the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion.

While Kiev stresses that the loss is “temporary,” an array of military experts believe that Russia is on the verge of annihilating Ukraine’s remaining forces in the area and taking full control over the city.

Russian MoD says the state of the art nuclear-capable weapons system Kinzhal was used to destroy an underground munitions depot in western Ukraine.

Kinzhal is Russia's single most advanced conventional weapon – 13 times as fast as a tomahawk, with 3x the payload.

Military and foreign policy analysts believe that Moscow’s decision to engage the new system is intended, among other things, to send a major deterrent signal to the U.S. and NATO.
