Today I want to share a very simple grammar tip,
As we already know ,
There is a rule where :
" to + ori (verb) " (remain as root word)
For example ,
i )
I like to sing ✅ (to + ori)
I like to sang ❌
I like to singing ❌
I like to sung ❌
ii )
She likes to read books. ✅ ( to +ori )
She likes to reading books. ❌
⚠️ However ,there are certain exceptions as you can see in these pictures,such as in expressions with "to" that are often followed by gerunds. ⚠️
E.g. :
- I am looking forward to seeing you. ✅
- I am looking forward to see you. ❌
In conclusion ,
"To + ori "
except if it is a gerund.
