๐ STORY TIME ๐
The Right Answer โ
In a small town, there was a Math teacher. She taught a 7 year-old kid named David. One day, she asked him โIf I give you one apple and one apple and one more apple, how many apples will you have?โ Within a few seconds David answered confidently, โFour!โ.
โMaybe this child did not listen properlyโ, she thought. She repeated, โDavid, listen carefully okey. It is a very simple question. If I give you one apple and one apple and one more apple, how many apples will you have? "
David calculated on his fingers again while he was searching for the answer that will make the teacher happy. This time he reply hesitated: โFourโฆ..โ
The teacher remembered David loves Strawberries. She thought maybe he doesnโt like apples so that make him lose focus.
This time with exaggerated excitement and twinkling eyes she asked, โIf I give you one strawberry and one strawberry and one more strawberry, then how many will you have?"
Young David calculated on his fingers over again. With a hesitating smile young David enquired, โThree"? The teacher now had victorious smile. But one last thing remained.
Once again she asked him, โNow if I give you one apple and one apple and one more apple, how many will you have?" Promptly David answered, โFour!" The teacher was aghast. โHow David, How?โ she demanded in a little stern and irritated voice.
In a low voice he replied, โBecause I already have one apple in my bagโ...
THE END
Moral of the Story๐๐ป
When someone gives us an answer that is different from what we are expecting, not necessarily they are wrong. There may be an angle that we have not understood at all. Perspective Changes Everything, remember that ๐!

๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ Some confusing words in English ๐
๐คIts vs. Itโs
These two cause many of us to cry. As we know, itโs is the contraction of it is and its is the possessive form of it. Tempted to throw in a sneaky apostrophe? First, check if you could replace the word with his or hers. If you can, then its is for you!
๐คฏA lot vs. Allot
What a difference a space makes. A lot describes quantity and as an added bonus, it can be used with both countable nouns (like people, chairs, or cups of coffee) and uncountable nouns (such as water, rice, money, or hair). Think: I have a lot of time. Heโs got a lot of books. How much do we have? A lot. Allot, on the other hand, is a regular verb and means to distribute. As in: I allotted everyone 30 minutes to speak. All the students were allotted a study area. (And to up the ante: He allotted everyone a lot of time.)
๐Piece vs. Peace
Now, another thing that you can allot โ and people are always grateful to receive โ is dessert, which brings us to our next tricky word pair. Thankfully, this is easy as pie: Next time youโre debating piece or peace, remember to think of apiece of pie (that will bring world peace).
๐ซAdvice vs. Advise
Advice โ with an s-sound โ is a suggestion for a course of action (My friend gave me some really great advice). Advise โ with a z-sound โ means suggest what to do, or give advice (He advised me to exercise first thing in the morning). Whew! But howโre we supposed to know which is which? Never forget again by remembering that advice is a noun, just like ice, whereas advise is a verb, just like is.
๐คฌLose vs. Loose
Did your team lose or loose the final? When you dropped 10kg, were your pants lose or loose? Does it even matter? Well, yes โ that innocent looking o makes a world oโ difference. Imagine that both words started out the same, but at some point, lose lost an o. (Maybe because there was a moose on the loose?)

๐ฅ๐ง๐งDairy Foods Vocabulary
๐ฎPeople have been raising animals like horses, donkeys, camels, goats, sheep and cows for thousands of years. They were raised for meat and skins as well as for milkยน. If female animals were producing milk to feed their young, people could also drink it if they milkedยฒ the animals.
The milk spoiled if it wasn't drunk within a day or two, so people found ways to turn it into foods that lasted longer, and these foods became what we now call dairy foods.
๐ฅ๐ง๐งMilk, Cream and Butter
Most of the milk we drink these days is cow's milk. Like all milk, if cow's milk is left to stand it separates into a low-fat drink called skimmed milk and a top layer of thick, high-fat cream.
๐งCream is used both in cooking and as a topping on desserts, but if it's stirred very quickly or "whipped" it gets even thicker and can be used in cakes and pastries as well. Cream can also be thickened by adding chemicals, and this type of cream is called double cream, heavy cream or whipping cream. If cream is whipped for a long time, it gradually turns into butter.
๐งButter is used in cooking and also as a spread, but many people now use a butter-like substance made from vegetable oils or animal fats called margarine instead.

BELL THE CAT
There was a grocery shop in a town. Plenty of mice lived in that grocery shop. Food was in plenty for them. They ate everything and spoiled all the bags. They also wasted the bread, biscuits and fruits of the shop.
The grocer got really worried. So, he thought "I should buy a cat and let it stay at the grocery. Only then I can save my things."
He bought a big fat cat and let him stay there. The cat had a nice time hunting the mice and killing them. The mice could not move freely now. They were afraid that anytime the cat would eat them up.
The mice wanted to do something. They held a meeting and all of them tweeted "We must get rid of the cat. Can someone give a suggestion"?
All the mice sat and brooded. A smart looking mouse stood up and said, "The cat moves softly. That is the problem. If we can tie a bell around her neck, then things will be fine. We can know the movements of the cat".
โYes, that is answer," stated all the mice. An old mouse slowly stood up and asked, "Who would tie the bell?" After some moments there was no one there to answer this question.

๐ค๐จโ๐๐ฉโ๐ซ Learn or study?
๐ฉโ๐Learn means "to gain knowledge or skill by studying" and study means "to read, memorize facts, attend school, etc."
๐จโ๐ซWhen you study something, you have not learned it yet. When you are studying something, you are reading books or articles about something you do not know a lot about yet, or using flash cards to memorize facts, or listening to a teacher in a classroom, or watching videos about something so that you can know something or do something well.
๐คWhen you learn something, you make it part of the things you know. When you know a lot about a subject, or are very skillful or knowledgeable about something, you have learned it.
Learning is gaining knowledge by studying, and studying is done to learn things. Below are some examples showing how these two words are used.
โข He learned about computers by reading a book.
โข He studied computer science in college.
โข He is learning a lot about patient care in his nursing classes.
โข She spent an hour every night studying her new vocabulary words.
โข Study the definitions of these words to learn them.
โข She learned how to do her job very quickly.
โข Some people learn best by reading books and others learn best by listening to lectures in class.
โข Students who spend some time each day studying will do well on tests.
โข The children learned several facts about cows in class this week.

๐ธ๐ผ๐ปHow to Use 'Say' and 'Tell'
๐ธIn reported statements, we can use either 'say' or 'tell'. The meaning is the same, but the grammar is different. For example:
Direct speech:
โข John: "I'll be late".
Reported speech:
โข John said (that) he would be late.
OR
โข John told me (that) he was going to be late.
๐ผWith 'tell' we NEED the object (e.g. 'me', 'you', 'her').
๐ปWith 'say' we CAN'T use the object (e.g. 'me', 'them', 'us').
โSo we CAN'T say:
โข โJohn said me that he would be late.โ
โข โJohn told that he would be late.โ
โ Here are some correct examples:
โข Julie said (that) she'd come to the party.
โข I said (that) I was going to bed early.
โข He told me (that) he loved living in London.
โข They told John (that) they would arrive at six.
๐ธ We can also use 'tell' in reported orders. In this case, 'tell' is followed by a direct object and 'to + infinitive': 'She told me to sit down'.

What is the difference between accept and except? How do you use accept and except in a sentence?
These are typical questions about these two words. We pronounce them similarly, but they donโt mean the same. Letโs compare confusing words accept and except.
โ The first thing is that โacceptโ is a verb while โexceptโ is commonly used as a preposition and a conjunction.

โ Mary was very angry, but accepted an apology.
โ My friend was very busy, but he accepted the invitation to my birthday party.
โ We accepted his idea about traveling to France.
โ It was difficult to be a newcomer in a company, but my colleagues accepted me finally.
