📚 STORY TIME 📖
The Right Answer ✅
In a small town, there was a Math teacher. She taught a 7 year-old kid named David. One day, she asked him “If I give you one apple and one apple and one more apple, how many apples will you have?” Within a few seconds David answered confidently, “Four!”.
“Maybe this child did not listen properly”, she thought. She repeated, “David, listen carefully okey. It is a very simple question. If I give you one apple and one apple and one more apple, how many apples will you have? "
David calculated on his fingers again while he was searching for the answer that will make the teacher happy. This time he reply hesitated: “Four…..”
The teacher remembered David loves Strawberries. She thought maybe he doesn’t like apples so that make him lose focus.
This time with exaggerated excitement and twinkling eyes she asked, “If I give you one strawberry and one strawberry and one more strawberry, then how many will you have?"
Young David calculated on his fingers over again. With a hesitating smile young David enquired, “Three"? The teacher now had victorious smile. But one last thing remained.
Once again she asked him, “Now if I give you one apple and one apple and one more apple, how many will you have?" Promptly David answered, “Four!" The teacher was aghast. ”How David, How?” she demanded in a little stern and irritated voice.
In a low voice he replied, “Because I already have one apple in my bag”...
THE END
Moral of the Story👇🏻
When someone gives us an answer that is different from what we are expecting, not necessarily they are wrong. There may be an angle that we have not understood at all. Perspective Changes Everything, remember that 😌!

😱😱😱 Some confusing words in English 👇
😤Its vs. It’s
These two cause many of us to cry. As we know, it’s is the contraction of it is and its is the possessive form of it. Tempted to throw in a sneaky apostrophe? First, check if you could replace the word with his or hers. If you can, then its is for you!
🤯A lot vs. Allot
What a difference a space makes. A lot describes quantity and as an added bonus, it can be used with both countable nouns (like people, chairs, or cups of coffee) and uncountable nouns (such as water, rice, money, or hair). Think: I have a lot of time. He’s got a lot of books. How much do we have? A lot. Allot, on the other hand, is a regular verb and means to distribute. As in: I allotted everyone 30 minutes to speak. All the students were allotted a study area. (And to up the ante: He allotted everyone a lot of time.)
😖Piece vs. Peace
Now, another thing that you can allot – and people are always grateful to receive – is dessert, which brings us to our next tricky word pair. Thankfully, this is easy as pie: Next time you’re debating piece or peace, remember to think of apiece of pie (that will bring world peace).
😫Advice vs. Advise
Advice – with an s-sound – is a suggestion for a course of action (My friend gave me some really great advice). Advise – with a z-sound – means suggest what to do, or give advice (He advised me to exercise first thing in the morning). Whew! But how’re we supposed to know which is which? Never forget again by remembering that advice is a noun, just like ice, whereas advise is a verb, just like is.
🤬Lose vs. Loose
Did your team lose or loose the final? When you dropped 10kg, were your pants lose or loose? Does it even matter? Well, yes – that innocent looking o makes a world o’ difference. Imagine that both words started out the same, but at some point, lose lost an o. (Maybe because there was a moose on the loose?)

🥛🧀🧈Dairy Foods Vocabulary
🐮People have been raising animals like horses, donkeys, camels, goats, sheep and cows for thousands of years. They were raised for meat and skins as well as for milk¹. If female animals were producing milk to feed their young, people could also drink it if they milked² the animals.
The milk spoiled if it wasn't drunk within a day or two, so people found ways to turn it into foods that lasted longer, and these foods became what we now call dairy foods.
🥛🧈🧁Milk, Cream and Butter
Most of the milk we drink these days is cow's milk. Like all milk, if cow's milk is left to stand it separates into a low-fat drink called skimmed milk and a top layer of thick, high-fat cream.
🧁Cream is used both in cooking and as a topping on desserts, but if it's stirred very quickly or "whipped" it gets even thicker and can be used in cakes and pastries as well. Cream can also be thickened by adding chemicals, and this type of cream is called double cream, heavy cream or whipping cream. If cream is whipped for a long time, it gradually turns into butter.
🧈Butter is used in cooking and also as a spread, but many people now use a butter-like substance made from vegetable oils or animal fats called margarine instead.

📚 STORY TIME 📖
BELL THE CAT
There was a grocery shop in a town. Plenty of mice lived in that grocery shop. Food was in plenty for them. They ate everything and spoiled all the bags. They also wasted the bread, biscuits and fruits of the shop.
The grocer got really worried. So, he thought "I should buy a cat and let it stay at the grocery. Only then I can save my things."
He bought a big fat cat and let him stay there. The cat had a nice time hunting the mice and killing them. The mice could not move freely now. They were afraid that anytime the cat would eat them up.
The mice wanted to do something. They held a meeting and all of them tweeted "We must get rid of the cat. Can someone give a suggestion"?
All the mice sat and brooded. A smart looking mouse stood up and said, "The cat moves softly. That is the problem. If we can tie a bell around her neck, then things will be fine. We can know the movements of the cat".
“Yes, that is answer," stated all the mice. An old mouse slowly stood up and asked, "Who would tie the bell?" After some moments there was no one there to answer this question.

👨🦱👴👨🦲 Hair or hairs??? 👇👇👇
👨🦱 Hair is one of these mass nouns that can also be countable. Typically “hair” refers to the entire mass on the human head or on the skin of an animal.
💁♀️So Sally has red “hair” and Devon has curly “hair”.
👴Hairs can be counted, and is used for individual strands. So you can have “hairs in your coffee” but not “hairs on your head” because in the second case, you can’t actually count the individual strands on your head. Some good examples of the difference can be :
🔥While I was brushing my hair today, I saw a few grey hairs and freaked out.
🔥Comb your hair elsewhere, there are three hairs in my food!
🔥The detective found hairs on the carpet and has sent them for DNA sampling to check if they match Reuben’s hair.

🤓👨🎓👩🏫 Learn or study?
👩🎓Learn means "to gain knowledge or skill by studying" and study means "to read, memorize facts, attend school, etc."
👨🏫When you study something, you have not learned it yet. When you are studying something, you are reading books or articles about something you do not know a lot about yet, or using flash cards to memorize facts, or listening to a teacher in a classroom, or watching videos about something so that you can know something or do something well.
🤓When you learn something, you make it part of the things you know. When you know a lot about a subject, or are very skillful or knowledgeable about something, you have learned it.
Learning is gaining knowledge by studying, and studying is done to learn things. Below are some examples showing how these two words are used.
• He learned about computers by reading a book.
• He studied computer science in college.
• He is learning a lot about patient care in his nursing classes.
• She spent an hour every night studying her new vocabulary words.
• Study the definitions of these words to learn them.
• She learned how to do her job very quickly.
• Some people learn best by reading books and others learn best by listening to lectures in class.
• Students who spend some time each day studying will do well on tests.
• The children learned several facts about cows in class this week.

🌸🌼🌻How to Use 'Say' and 'Tell'
🌸In reported statements, we can use either 'say' or 'tell'. The meaning is the same, but the grammar is different. For example:
Direct speech:
• John: "I'll be late".
Reported speech:
• John said (that) he would be late.
OR
• John told me (that) he was going to be late.
🌼With 'tell' we NEED the object (e.g. 'me', 'you', 'her').
🌻With 'say' we CAN'T use the object (e.g. 'me', 'them', 'us').
❌So we CAN'T say:
• “John said me that he would be late.”
• “John told that he would be late.”
✅Here are some correct examples:
• Julie said (that) she'd come to the party.
• I said (that) I was going to bed early.
• He told me (that) he loved living in London.
• They told John (that) they would arrive at six.
🌸 We can also use 'tell' in reported orders. In this case, 'tell' is followed by a direct object and 'to + infinitive': 'She told me to sit down'.

🤪😝😜 How fast can you repeat these tongue twisters?
😋Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers?
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where’s the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?
😛A big bug bit a bold bald bear and the bold bald bear bled blood badly.
😝She sells sea-shells on the sea-shore.
The shells she sells are sea-shells, I’m sure.
For if she sells sea-shells on the sea-shore
Then I’m sure she sells sea-shore shells.
😜Swan swam over the pond,
Swim swan swim!
Swan swam back again –
Well swum swan!
🤪Betty Botter bought a bit of butter.
The butter Betty Botter bought was a bit bitter
And made her batter bitter.
But a bit of better butter makes better batter.
So Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter
Making Betty Botter’s bitter batter better
😛The sixth sick sheikh’s sixth sheep’s sick.
☝️☝️☝️ These tongue twisters will help you improve your pronunciation. Read them at first slowly than faster and faster.

🤷♀️🤷♂️ACCEPT OR EXCEPT?
What is the difference between accept and except? How do you use accept and except in a sentence?
These are typical questions about these two words. We pronounce them similarly, but they don’t mean the same. Let’s compare confusing words accept and except.
✅The first thing is that ‘accept’ is a verb while ‘except’ is commonly used as a preposition and a conjunction.
☝️We can accept a present, an invitation, an idea or a plan or even an unpleasant situation. Look at the examples below:
— Mary accepted a kitten as a present.
— Mary was very angry, but accepted an apology.
— My friend was very busy, but he accepted the invitation to my birthday party.
— We accepted his idea about traveling to France.
— It was difficult to be a newcomer in a company, but my colleagues accepted me finally.
— People in big cities accept traffic jams as part of their life.
✅Except means ‘excluding’. Look at the examples below:
— I like all dog breeds except pit bulls.
— Mary won’t tell you anything about her new boyfriend, except that he has graduated from Cambridge.
— He would buy that car, except that it costs too much.
