Gas Price BOOMS in Europe After Gazprom DECLINES Additional Transit Capacity in Ukraine (Report)
European gas prices soared to $908 per 1,000 cubic meters on Londonโs ICE market early on Monday โ the October futures spike apparently following the news that Gazprom reportedly did not book any additional capacities for gas transit through Ukrainian territory.
Ukraineโs gas transportation operator had offered transit capacities of 15MN cubic meters per day for October at an auction โ but according to auction results they remained unclaimed.
The price steadied later Monday, trading at $881 per 1,000 cubic meters as of 11:00 GMT โ possibly in part due to Norwegian Equinor, Europeโs key gas supplier, receiving long-awaited permission to boost gas exports from its offshore fields.

The Victorian government will forcibly shutdown all construction sites for two weeks in metropolitan Melbourne and all other locked down local government areas in response to protests Monday against mandatory vaccination on construction sites.
"We've been clear: if you don't follow the rules, we won't hesitate to take action โ we have seen widespread noncompliance across the industry,โ Minister for Industrial Relations Tim Pallas said.
"We put the industry on notice just a week ago, we have seen appalling behavior on site and on our streets, and now we're acting decisively and without hesitation,โ Pallas added.
