Kilkenny Says No

Sunday, February 12th 2023, the people of Kilkenny made it known that they reject the plantation of their town and county. A crowd of about 50 protesters gathered at the council offices in lower John Street.

Gathered at the gates in opposition to the peoples right to protest was local politicians Kathleen Funchion of Sinn Fein, who was standing beside an individual carrying an Antifa flag, and Malcom Noonan of the Green Party. Alongside them was a crowd of about 50 protesters, most of whom were bussed in from Dublin. About ten local people were among their ranks while we had about 40 locals with us and ten very welcome guests.

We gathered our clan and stepped out on the road. We proceeded down John Street, over Johnโ€™s Bridge and then up Rose Inn street to the Parade. We proceeded up high street and then Parnell Street to Irish Town where we then assembled outside the Kilkenny Inn hotel

Luke Oโ€™Connor, a prominent member of the Irish Freedom Party and a champion of the town of Kilkenny gave a short speech thanking every for attending and facing down the government hate mob. He explained the economics of Kilkenny as a tourist town losing its traffic because the hotels will taken up with asylum seekers.

Local men, Pรณl Oโ€™Hada and Darren Anthony gave excellent information and insight into the capacity of the town to handle this influx of men and also the continued lack of investment in our own homeless.

The speeches followed up with Stephen Delaney, who spoke about the demographic of single men being the hardest to house, the inability of this demographic to transition from state funded accommodation to the rental market or purchasing market as there are only 5 properties available in kilkenny on Daft.

Melissa Oโ€™ Neil and Michael Leahy of the Irish Freedom party were also given an opportunity to speak with Michael Leahy summarising the need for Nationalism and the ideals of national sovereignty and freedom to be brought back to the minds of the people of Ireland.

All and all an extremely successful day. Kilkenny Says No will be maintaining a regular presence at the hotel and BnB in Vicar street with more Protests to Come.

Kilkenny Says No is calling for for locals to take action themselves on this issue. Each area/estate should get out on the street and talk and decide what they want to do about this attack on our town and county. Do things on your own terms. Simple placards and banners representing your towns, areas and estates expressing that we all say NO!
