Censorship in Ireland isn't a new phenomenon, this letter from 1939 is a newspaper telling an organiser for a memorial to 3 IRA men who died, that the newspaper was unable to post a notice because the literal Censors Office of the government had banned any mention of anything that "Glorified the IRA".
