Hello everybody,
Hope youโre well. ๐
I feel compelled to bring this up, not in a bid to resume the friction of last night, but to just ask that everybody is more respectful of one another on here.
Weโre always going to have differences of opinion, but when respect goes out of the window and people start abusing other people via DM, that is crossing the line in my opinion - people wouldnโt behave like that in an offline setting without expecting negative consequences, hopefully the same can apply here.
A lower degree of censorship comes with responsibility and a vigorous debate is healthy, God knows weโre increasingly being censored on a day-to-day basis, as we all know. To have a group where opposing opinions can be discussed is a blessing, but when it turns nasty, itโs unacceptable and completely unnecessary.
Going forward, could people be so kind as to turn off their mics when others are speaking and let people finish their points, without them feeling hurried and like somebody else is poised to speak over them at any moment? Often the background noise from other mics is distracting, both for the speaker and other listeners. Not a big ask.
Thereโs been some great conversations and so much interesting input from the members on this channel; itโll be a shame if it turns into an acrimonious group and that spirit is lost, because people have lost sight of common courtesy.
And Gabhรกn, I want to thank you. You put so much work into your channel and provide so much invaluable content to all of us, itโs truly appreciated. ๐๐ผ๐ฏ
