Neighbor's system making 10.7kw. The roof is so flat i spec'ed extra panels just to make sure he covered his winter use... and its correct. Woooooo. 10kw was my target.

That 6500w going into his house is 3 mini splits and the electric clothes dryer. His son went to make toast last night after dark and he had a family meeting... do anything you want when sun is shining, do not run high power stuff after dark unless emergency. I told him he sounded like his dad.

I'm about to cover the overflow pipe in my pond with concrete to ballast it down. So how much buoyancy does that pipe have? how much concrete will I need? The pipe is 6" HDPE corrugated and the O.D. is 7"... To save you the guys I created a table showing the buoyancy per foot of common pipe sizes.

I'm using concrete by the bag, but if you want to use soil count on 130 lbs per cubic foot of cover in your ditch. I've also included a chart to show how deep a ditch should be to satisfy this requirement.

EDIT: Gone.

Ive got a SolarEdge 11400 Inverter up for grabs. It's grid tie only and will not work with 62hz frequency shift power control.

And I've got a 6kw SolarEdge HD Wave that will work with 62hz power control, so this one is suitable for AC coupled off grid system.

I've got about 60 SolarEdge optimizers.

I've got a bunch of TIGO remote shut off modules and the transmitter that are required to be used with string inverters when mounting on a roof.

These things gotta go... I won't say free to a good home, but certainly if someone here wants them, I'll make you a sweet deal. Please no shipping, I can meet you somewhere within an hour or two of the middle of SC.

For its time, quite the clever idea!

today I weighed down the HDPE culvert pipe that is the pond drain line with concrete. I ended up just pouring concrete onto the pipe to envelope it and then put unopened sacks of concrete on top of that... and some stones. Now I can turn the solar pump back on and let it run again. No pictures.... it's horrible looking anyway. but it'll hold that pipe down flat on the bottom so it won't get air locked. As the pond fills up, I'll eventualy trim that pipe to be the final water level.

Side note... that mallionus dog that wandered up a few months ago... my companion. He was right there with me today. I saw a skink and tried to sic him on it... I kept pointing at it and he kept putting his head under my hand to get petted. I finally gave up trying to show it to him. Next thing I know he's sticking his head inside a 5 gallon bucket and slinging it straight up into the air.

Victron MPPT 250/100 feature.... There are several conditions where the victon MPPT will go in to what I'll call "panic mode". When it does this, it closes a latching relay across the PV inputs. This can be reset via the bluetooth app on your phone. It's a really cool feature because if you didn't anticipate the solar panel voltage going over 250v and one fine cold morning it does, then it will save itself by "crowbarring" the solar input. The other condition is if it detects a short circuit between the battery + and the PV +.

So what happened today.... (next post).
